A lift bounce or passive bounce is a bounce juggling pattern where the balls are lifted or tossed upward after each catch so that they always fall from the same height. Lift bounce patterns are normally done with outside throws, so the balls are thrown on the outside of the pattern and then go down through the middle, with the right-hand and left-hand throws crossing paths on the way down. The reverse of this pattern is a force bounce.

The highest number of balls that have been qualified in a lift bounce pattern is 10, and the highest number of balls that have been flashed in a lift bounce is 11.

A column bounce is a type of lift bounce pattern involving columns, claw catches, and multiple bounces.
